Suita-city Symphony Orchestra (SSO) was founded in 1972. We are the
Amateua Orchestra group based at Suita-city, Osaka.
Currently we have 100 members. Our repertories are from classicals
such as L.V.Beethoven to post-Romantics such as G.Mahler,
D.D.Shostakovich, and more we can challenge.
The major activities are the regular concerts took place in Winter and
Spring, and we have Summer concert, and Fall Chamber Music
Concert. Beside these concerts, we have twice-a-year campings and
participate to Fall Suita Music Festival.
We are also affiliated to Federation of Japan Amateur Orchestras :
JAO, and selected members participate for the JAO's annual convention.
In 1960 at Suita-city, Suita-city Simphony Amateua Orchestra was
active, but during 1970 due to the difficulty of management, the
activity was closed.
However in 1972, when Brass Band became popular in every place,
Suita-City decided to raise an orchestra group where any citizen of
Suita-city are able to participate easily and make the group to be a
Fountain of Heart for the city.
Lead by the former members of Suita high-school Orchestra, and the
support from Settsu-city Brass Band, and full cooperation from Talent
Education Research Institute,Suita-branch to fill the strings part,
the orchestra was formed with 35 members.
SSO is having the following concert.
