Toshiki Akiyama

Toshiki Akiyama has been a conductor of our orchestra since 1988.
He was born in Tokyo 1946 and graduated from Jochi(Sophia) University in economics.

He was taught violin by prof.Otsu Mori, Gen Fukui, Toshiiko Watanabe. He worked at concert management and recording in music production companies. After that he became an independent violin and viola player. Presently he performes for TV, stage productions, and music recordings. He takes part in CD production and concert tours, of well known domestic and foreign artists.
He has directed and instructed many armateur orchestras. Audience have been impressed by his unique and clear conducting method. Mr. Akiyama instructs armateur players with great enthusiasm. This enthusiasm comes from his former teacher late Yasushi Akutagawa's will which he highly respects. Mr. Akiyama's motto and principle is "Best performance" so he is always willing and eager to participate in any genre of music. Since he plays not only the violin, but also the viola and trumpet he can offer good advice and teaching to both wind instrument and string players.
